Special City Council Meeting - Executive Session

The City Council authorized staff to submit a Request for Exclusion from the PFAS Multidistrict Litigation Proceeding (MDL) at their regular meeting on November 6, 2023.
The City Attorney received notice from the PFAS Multidistrict Litigation Proceeding (MDL) Administrator on February 19, 2023 that the federal judge overseeing the MDL is allowing those that submitted a Request for Exclusion from either the 3M or the DuPont settlement to withdraw their request on or before March 1, 2024 and rejoin the proceeding.
The executive session will afford the governing body an opportunity to seek and receive their attorney’s advice and guidance on the legal risks, strengths, and weaknesses of an action of a public entity which, if held in public, would have an adverse fiscal effect on the entity. See N.D.C.C. 44-04-19.1, subsections 2 and 9.
