The City of Minot's diverse workforce is its greatest asset. The mission of the Human Resource Department is to provide support to all City departments and employees, to assist them in providing better service for the residents of Minot.
Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the department to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain quality employees, provide a comprehensive compensation and benefits program, ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, process payroll, administer employee benefits, and promote safety awareness in the workplace.
Human Resource staff are also responsible for administering City Civil Service policies and procedures, and Civil Service testing to fill entry-level and promotional positions. The City of Minot has ten departments in operation throughout the city, with 460 full-time, and numerous part-time and seasonal employees.
Staff
The Human Resource Staff includes the Human Resource Director, two Senior Human Resource Generalists, and one Human Resources Generalist. The office is located on 3rd Floor of City Hall at 10-3rd Avenue Southwest. All job openings are posted on the Human Resource page of the City website and the North Dakota Job Services website.
