The Employee Recognition Committee has been working on setting up a voluntary donation fund, and it's finally ready! If you attended our first quarterly recognition ceremony, or you were present at the recent open enrollment session, you might have heard of this.

What will my donations be used for?

The money you donate will go directly back to all the employees in many ways. Long story short, there are a LOT of things we can't do with taxpayer's money.

These donations allow us to do more, without the red tape.

Some examples are:

• We will be able to have more giveaway items at the annual picnic, and those giveaway items can be more lucrative than in the past. Historically, our limit has been $50 per giveaway item, but we'd really like to go bigger for next year.
• Catered lunches. After the Water department's heavy crew worked in -20F to fix the broken Water main on 4th Ave NW in February, we bought them all lunch to thank them for their hard work in not-so-ideal conditions. The ERC would love to do more things like this for more teams in our organization.
• Gift cards for recognitions. If one person does something exceptional that deserves recognition, we've bought them gift cards in the past for various businesses and restaurants.
• Other stuff we haven't even thought of yet, but we want to expand our possibilities to give back to you!

How do I donate?

If you'd like to donate, there is an easy form you can fill out on ADP. You can decide how much money you want to donate out of every paycheck, but we have options for $1, $2, $5, and a custom amount. Human Resources can help with the form. Fill out the form once, and the donations are automatic! Once complete, send the signed form to HR@minotnd.gov. 

How long do I have to donate if I sign up?

As long as you'd like! Opting out of donating can be in effect as soon as your next paycheck. You may opt out of donating at any time as well by using the same form. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated!
