Residential Permit
The City of Minot requires that all residential plans for construction be examined for code compliance before a permit can be issued. The task of inspecting or examining the plans is the responsibility of the Plan Review staff. The Plan Review staff communicates with contractors, developers, architects, and professional engineers, to the general public. Applications for review and permits can range from new house construction, decks, garages, additions or renovation. The plan review staff review the plans for all these types of buildings. Compliance to the appropriate building, electrical, plumbing/mechanical codes, must be met before a permit may be issued to commence construction. These reviews are conducted to insure the fire protection and life safety of the occupant.
Before applying for a residential permit, please review Chapter 2 of the “Review, Permit and Inspection Guide” for the most current adopted Codes and Standards.
