IEDC Interagency Stakeholder Committee

Following an immersive and thorough assessment of the City of Minot with an emphasis on Minot's downtown, the International  Economic Development Council has issued a report  identifying economic development needs within the City of Minot and strategies for fostering economic growth and resiliency.

As a response to the recommendations (you can view an executive summary here) Mayor Shaun Sipma appointed a project manager, Tim Mihalick, to lead a Stakeholder Task Force to develop plans to further economic growth in Minot's downtown. Several technical teams, comprised of members from several private and public agencies, were assembled. Each team was given a task to address issues like:

  • Removing Investment Barriers
  • Investing in an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
  • Marketing to Investors
  • Investing in Quality of Life Projects
  • City-wide branding
