The Snow Removal Emergency Proclamation will expire at noon as visibility continues to improve on city streets. Minot Street Department will focus winter response on Priority snow routes 1 and 2 outlined in the Snow and Ice Control Plan. https://www.minotnd.gov/300/Street
City operation announcements include:
- Minot City Transit will start service at 9:30 a.m.
- Minot Sanitation department is collecting garbage
- Minot Public Library is closed today
Overnight operations included sand trucks on the priority snow routes and 2 blades addressing drifting snow, especially on the city limits perimeter. A full crew will operate through the day shift and 6 drivers will continue through the night tonight.

The City of Minot is an assisting partner with the CPKC Holiday Train. The event is moving forward as planned. Downtown patrons are encouraged to use the parking garages so that event barriers can be placed and a late afternoon snow response can take place. Parking in the parking garages is free for the first 2 hours. The event is scheduled from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Main Street Downtown.

- Continuing downtown with the smaller equipment
Fleet/Shop Department:
- Repairs this morning
- Curb protector replacements
- Snow gate repairs & replacements
- New blade edges are thicker and have been lasting longer
REPORTS FROM THE ROAD (night/morning):
Street Department:
- Nightshift completed Priorities 1 & 2
- Repeat of 1 & 2 for drifting late in the shift
- Priority 3: Hills are about 43% complete
- Started Priorities 4 & 5: Schools & Bus Routes
- Residential areas are started in NW, SW, NE
Fire Department: Appreciative of the quick response of the snow plows along the frontage road at Station 3 where those drifts move in up north.
Minot City Transit: All bus routes are active today. Please expect some delays in areas where ice and snow drifts are a concern.

The snow removal emergency proclamation expired at 10 a.m. Thursday. The proclamation assists with parking enforcement along Priorities 1 & 2. Storm Sewer Department:
Front end loaders will be used for downtown alleyways and drifting areas in northwest Minot.
Skid-steers will begin moving snow on larger walking paths (City owned)
Mini-loaders will be sued for smaller walking paths (City owned)

A snow removal emergency proclamation was declared at 10 a.m. Wednesday and will be in place for 24-hours. This means no parking on Snow Routes which are listed as Priority 1 and Priority 2 for snow removal. Those details can be found in the Snow & Ice Control Plan here:
